Engineering exports continue to record highs, surging 173 percent in April 2021, states the Engineering Export Council of Egypt (EECE).
In a statement, the council announced that engineering exports reached $226.3 million compared to $82.8 million in the same month last year.
Last month, the EECE stated that engineering goods exports climbed a total of 30 percent in Q1 2021.

Exports of engineering goods and products saw an increase of 49 percent during the first 4 months of 2021, the council wrote in its latest statement, reaching $967.7 million compared to $650.2 million in the same period last year.
The engineering industries sector was the third top sector according to growth rate during the first 4 months of the year, said Ismail Gaber, Chairman of the General Organization for Import and Export Control (GOEIC).
The first 10 months of the fiscal year (2020/2021) did jump 22.2 percent, reaching $2.31 billion compared to $1.88 billion in the same period of 2019/2020.
Top exporting engineering product sectors were tableware and kitchenware by 51 percent, transportation vehicles by 43 percent, and household appliances by 42.6 percent.
The rest of the list follows as cables by 41 percent, automotive components by 35 percent and electrical and electronic industries by 21 percent.
Top countries importing Egyptian engineering products are the UK, Turkey, France, Germany, Spain, and Greece.
