Egypt will receive eight liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments this November to meet domestic energy demands, particularly for electricity generation and industrial use.

The total volume of these shipments is expected to be between 160,000 and 180,000 cubic meters.

The LNG will be directed to the "Höegh Gallon" vessel for regasification, then injected into Egypt's national gas grid.

Seven shipments will arrive at the Sidi Kerir port on the Red Sea, while one will be processed at the Aqaba port in Jordan before being redirected to Egypt, according to a government source speaking to news media outlets.

These shipments are part of a broader plan, with a total of 20 LNG cargoes contracted for the final quarter of the year to ensure adequate supply during the winter months. If further demand arises, additional shipments may be arranged to stabilize the market.

This effort is part of Egypt's strategy to secure its energy needs, alongside domestic production of about 4.8 billion cubic feet of gas per day and imports from Israel.

The shipments, which were acquired at a premium over the standard price on the Dutch TTF market, highlight Egypt’s proactive approach to energy security amidst global supply fluctuations.
