Egypt’s exports of fresh fruits hit $1.268 in first 5 months of 2024

In May, Fresh fruit exports recorded $312.7 million, compared to $266.4 million in the same month in 2023, an increase of about $46.2 million.

Egypt’s exports of fresh fruits reached $1.268 billion during the first 5 months of 2024, compared to $1.106 billion during the same period of 2023, achieving an increase of $161.3 million, according to data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

In May, Fresh fruit exports recorded $312.7 million, compared to $266.4 million in the same month in 2023, an increase of about $46.2 million.

In May of 2023, Egyptian exports showed growth compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, bolstered by rising exports of key products.

This included a 17.4% surge in fresh fruit exports, a 5.5% increase in ready-made clothing exports, a notable 32.2% uptick in pastries and food preparations exports, and a modest 1.3% rise in carpet.

On the other hand, Egyptian imports recorded a decrease of $7.38 billion last May, compared to $7.77 billion for the same month of 2023, a decline of 5.1%.

The most important of which are imports of raw materials of iron or steel, which recorded about $405 million last May, compared to $407 million in the same month in 2023, a decline of 0.3%.

 Followed by Egypt’s imports of plastics in their primary forms at a value of $304 million last May, compared to $313 million in the same month in 2023, a decrease of 2.9%.
