Egypt's agricultural exports increase by 9.1% during first 9 months of 2024

According to the report, Egypt's agricultural exports exceeded about 6.4 million tons of agricultural products, an increase of more than 529 thousand tons over the same period in 2023.

The volume of Egypt's agricultural exports increased by 9.1% during the period from the beginning of January to mid-September 2024, according to the report received by the Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, from Central Administration of Plant Quarantine (CAPQ).

According to the report, Egypt's agricultural exports exceeded about 6.4 million tons of agricultural products, an increase of more than 529 thousand tons over the same period in 2023.

Total agricultural exports of citrus fruits amounted to about 2,201 million tons, followed by the export of 965,796 thousand tons of fresh potatoes, while about 261,580 thousand tons of onions were exported, ranking third in exports.

Beans ranked fourth with a total of 192,925 thousand tons, and grapes ranked fifth with a total of 175,061 thousand tons. Potatoes ranked sixth in agricultural exports, with a total of 121,194 thousand tons.

While mangoes ranked seventh in exports with a total of 75,937 tons, while Egypt’s pomegranate exports ranked eighth with a total amount of 39,280 thousand tons.

Earlier in September, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) stated that the value of the trade deficit reached $2.87 billion in June 2024, compared to $3.02 billion for the same month of 2023, a decrease of 5.1%.

According to CAPMAS, the value of exports decreased by 1.6%, reaching $3.13 billion during June 2024, compared to $3.18 billion for the same month of 2023.
