Egyptian exports of chemicals and fertilizers were up by 31% year-on-year (YoY) during the first nine months of 2022 to record $6.47 billion, revealed the latest data by Egypt’s Chemical and Fertilizers Export Council.

Chemicals and fertilizers exported Egypt’s main markets grew by 25%. The countries include Italy, France, India, Britain, and Spain.
The chemicals and fertilizers sector accounts for 24% of Egypt’s total non-petroleum exports, said council head Khaled Abul Makarem, who was cited by the Middle East News Agency (MENA).
Abul Makarem highlighted the promising nature of the chemicals industry, which provides 437 investment opportunities as per the country’s investment map.

Over the past three years, the number of exporters has increased to 2,540 from 300 exporters, boosted through programs aimed at supporting and aiding small manufacturers and exporters.
Egypt’s overall exports saw a significant growth of 48.8% YoY in 2021, according to recent data by CAPMAS, with non-oil exports were valued at $32.5 billion.
