Overall, engineering products’ exports saw positive growth, with an increase of 28% in FY 2020/2021
Egypt’s engineering exports saw a 54% climb in June 2021, reaching $282 million, compared to $180 million in June 2020, according to a press statement released by the Engineering Exports Council on Sunday.
During the first half (H1) of 2021, engineering exports also saw a 54% increase, reaching $1.462 billion compared to $950 million in H1 2020.
Ismail Gaber, Chairman of the General Organization for Import and Export Control (GOEIC), stated that engineering industries are the third top sector in the growth rate during the first 4 months of the year.

Overall, engineering products’ exports saw positive growth, with an increase of 28% in FY 2020/2021, reaching $2.802 billion; compared to $2.188 billion in the fiscal year of 2019/2020.
Engineering exports also went up by 15% in the first nine months of fiscal year 2020/21, recording at $2.07 billion compared to $1.80 billion in the same period of FY 2019/20.
Top exporting sectors with the highest growth were the cables industry by 52%, tableware and kitchen products by 51%, automotive components by 47%, and household appliances by 47%.
Some of the top countries importing Egyptian engineering products were the UK, Turkey, France, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Hong Kong, Kenya and Tunisia.
