Madbouly expressed Egypt’s aspiration to expand trade and investment exchanges and strengthen cooperation in several priority sectors.
Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, emphasized Egypt’s commitment to working jointly to overcome any obstacles hindering the entry of Egyptian pharmaceuticals into the Azerbaijani market as swiftly as possible, thereby meeting market demands in this area.
This came during Madbouly’s meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ali Asadov, on the sidelines of the COP29 climate events in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku.
Madbouly expressed Egypt’s aspiration to expand trade and investment exchanges and strengthen cooperation in several priority sectors.
He also highlighted the importance of supporting collaboration between business communities in both countries by organizing business delegations to explore economic, trade, and investment opportunities.
In this regard, Madbouly noted that a joint high-level committee between the two countries is scheduled to convene in the first quarter of 2025.
He suggested holding a business forum alongside the committee’s sessions to discuss opportunities in various sectors, including agriculture, industry, energy and petroleum, and pharmaceutical industries.
In response, the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan welcomed Madbouly’s proposal for a business forum on the sidelines of the joint committee meeting.
He designated his Minister of Technology and Investment, along with the Ministers of Agriculture and Health, to oversee the forum.
He also highlighted the significance of the pharmaceutical sector for Azerbaijan, noting that the country currently imports all types of medicines.
This has led them to consider either supporting local manufacturing of this vital industry or partnering with Egypt in this field, in addition to other areas of collaboration.
