The exports increased during July by 12%, to reach $3.146 billion, compared to $2.821 billion during the same month in 2023, an increase of $325 million.
El-Naggar added that Egypt’s imports recorded about $6.5 billion during last July, compared to $6.222 billion during July 2023, an increase of 4%.
During the first 7 months of 2024, he explained that Arab countries topped the list of markets receiving Egyptian exports with about $8.616 billion, followed by the European Union countries with about $5.972 billion.
The United States of America is in third place with a value of $1.333 billion, and then African countries are in fourth place, with a value of $1.255 billion, and for the rest of the countries, it amounted to $5.802 billion.
El-Naggar pointed out that the building materials sector topped the list of exporting sectors during (January-July) with about $5.599 billion, followed by the chemical products and fertilizers sector with about $4.509 billion, the food industries sector in third place with about $3.669 billion, and the engineering and electronic goods sector in fourth place with a value of 3.098 billion.
The agricultural crops sector came in fifth place with a value of about $3.022 billion, followed by the ready-made clothing sector with a value of $1.563 billion, and in seventh place was the spinning and textile sector with a value of $638 million, followed by the medical industries sector with a value of $395 million, followed by the furniture sector with a value of $357 million.
