The Indian Ostwal Group of Industries which is which specializes in producing phosphate fertilizers is considering establishing a fertilizer production project in Egypt with investments amounting to $300 million, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib announced that during his meeting with the group’s delegation.
El-Khatib added that the project is expected to provide a production volume of 700 thousand tons annually.
He pointed out that the Indian group seeks to export to the markets of the Middle East, Africa and Europe, in addition to the Indian market.
The Minister pointed out the keenness of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade to provide all aspects of support for international investments to exist and expand in the Egyptian market.
Earlier in July, The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade announced that the Egyptian-Indian Business Council adopted an investment initiative for the year 2027 aimed at increasing Indian investment in Egypt to $5 billion.
This came during the members of the Egyptian-Indian Business Council's meeting with Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib.
In 2023, the total value of Indian investments in Egypt stood at $3.2 billion, which is diversified across 52 projects spanning multiple sectors such as food industries, chemicals, and tourism.
