Egypt's affirmation of support for joint African work institutions reflects its commitment to promoting economic integration.
During the opening ceremony of the 10th anniversary celebration of the establishment of the COMESA Competition Commission, held in Malawi on May 4th and 5th, the Commissioner of Commercial Representation, Yahya El Wakil, confirmed Egypt's full support for the joint African work institutions, particularly the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and its affiliated institutions.
He emphasized the effective impact of the Competition Commission in achieving economic integration and facilitating free trade among member states, as well as promoting joint investments in a framework of fair competition.
The opening ceremony was attended by the President of Malawi, the Secretary-General of COMESA, and several officials from African member countries.
The celebration includes a series of meetings and discussions among participating African officials with the aim of activating the role of the Competition Commission, especially in light of ongoing arrangements for Egypt to hand over the presidency of COMESA to Zambia during the upcoming summit in June.
Egypt's affirmation of support for joint African work institutions, especially COMESA, reflects its commitment to promoting economic integration and facilitating free trade among African nations.
As the most populous country in the Arab world and a key player in the African continent, Egypt's continued support for African institutions is essential to achieving regional economic growth and stability.
