Annually, exports of fertilizers jumped by 42% in 2022 to hit $3.38 billion
Egyptian exports of chemicals and fertilizers was up by 23% in 2022 to record $8.62 billion from $7.33 billion in 2021, revealed Egypt’s Chemical and Fertilizers Export Council.
Annually, exports of fertilizers jumped by 42% in 2022 to hit $3.38 billion, with exports inorganic chemicals soaring by 105% to $1.31 billion and exports of plastics up by 1% to $2.46 billion.
The chemicals sector accounted for 24% of Egypt’s total non-petroleum exports.
Non-oil exports were up by 12% in the months between January – October 2022 to record $30.4 billion. Egyptian engineering exports increased by 10% in 2022 on an annual basis to hit $3.8 billion, compared to $3.5 billion recorded in 2021.
During the first nine months of 2022, Egypt’s exports of chemicals and fertilizers grew by 31% annually to record $6.47 billion.

Exports of chemicals and fertilizers to Egypt’s largest importing markets grew by 32% to $3.6 billion in 2022, compared to $4.74 billion in 2021.
