Exports of chemicals and fertilizers during the first 10 months of 2022 reached $7.12 billion, with the building materials sector’s exports recording $5.75 billion
Egypt’s non-oil exports climbed by 12% during the first 10 months of 2022 to reach $30.4 billion, up from $27.1 billion during the January – October period in 2021, revealed new data from the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC).
The latest data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) revealed that Egyptian exports were up by 11.6% in September to hit $4.11 billion.
Exports of chemicals and fertilizers during the first 10 months of 2022 reached $7.12 billion, with the building materials sector’s exports recording $5.75 billion and the food sector hitting $3.46 billion, followed by engineering industries that accounted for $3.077 billion.
Egyptian exports of agricultural crops were valued at $2.6 billion, while ready-made clothing exports hit $2.09 billion, and finally printing, packaging, paper, and books recorded $9.9 million.

Earlier this week, the Middle East News Agency reported that Egypt’s trade balance deficit dropped by 4% to $33.5 billion in the first 9 months of 2022, compared to $34.9 billion during the same period in 2021.
The news outlet explained that during this time, Egyptian exports saw a rise in value from January to August by 26.6% to record $38.7 billion.
