Egypt signed agreements for 8 non-refundable development grants worth $130 million from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), according to a statement released by the Ministry of International Cooperation (MoIC).

These agreements were signed by the Minister of MoIC, Rania Al-Mashat, and ambassador of the United States to Egypt, Herro Mustafa.

The signed grant agreements cover various priority areas and reflect the government's vision for development.

They include $13.5 million for comprehensive economic governance, $35 million for the Egyptian-American Higher Education Initiative, $12 million for the second phase of basic education, and $15 million for improving health outcomes.

Additionally, there is $14.5 million for rural development and income increase, $26.9 million for trade and investment improvement, $5.5 million for addressing climate change, and $7.5 million for water support solutions.

It is worth noting that the ongoing development cooperation portfolio with the USAID since 2014, amounts to about $1 billion.

 This portfolio contributed to implementing many projects in the fields of basic education, higher education, health, governance, small and medium enterprises, private sector support, tourism, agriculture, and climate.
