Egypt's role in Africa highlighted at Russia-Africa Summit, bolstering economic ties

Head of the Egyptian Freedom Party, Mamdouh Mohamed Mahmoud, stated that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's participation in the Russia-Africa Summit underscores Egypt's pivotal role in the African continent and its distinguished and historical relations with Russia.

Mahmoud, the head of the Egyptian Freedom Party, added that the summit contributes to enhancing economic and trade partnerships with Russia and African countries. It also facilitates coordination on various regional and international issues, in addition to Russian support for development projects, infrastructure, and the transfer of modern technology used in local industry localization.

He pointed out the significance of the Russian industrial zone in the economic axis of the Suez Canal, as well as the Dabaa Nuclear Reactor, which is utilized for electricity generation.

He emphasized that Russia is considered a strategic partner for Egypt and Africa, working to strengthen bilateral and collective cooperation in various fields, including water security. Moscow shares its expertise and technologies in nuclear energy and space, which can be harnessed to increase water resources, improve their quality, and enhance monitoring.

Furthermore, Mahmoud explained that Russia plays a vital role in supporting African countries in managing their water resources. Moscow emphasizes the importance of respecting the sovereignty of African nations and urges peaceful dispute resolution.

He pointed out that the African continent faces significant challenges in securing its water and food needs due to climate change, drought, and pollution.

Amidst growing international collaboration and investment, several African nations have witnessed remarkable economic growth and development. African economies are diversifying, and investment in key sectors is on the rise, contributing to increased employment opportunities and improved living standards. The continent's commitment to sustainable development and resource management is garnering global recognition, further attracting foreign investments and partnerships.
