The dedicated team undergoes comprehensive training covering humanitarian relief principles, first aid, psychological support, organization and management, communication strategies, and disaster planning. In alignment with the government's commitment to achieving sustainable development goals, the Egyptian Food Bank joined forces two years ago with the National Alliance for Civil Development Work. Recognizing the unpredictable nature of disasters, EFB maintains strategic stocks in warehouses, ensuring provisions for at least 1,000 families, considering the average family size of five members, to cater to the simultaneous occurrence of disasters in multiple villages across different governorates. In parallel, EFB continues its daily operations of ensuring food security to every person, serving its beneficiaries (female households, elders, people of disability) of 120,000 families across Egypt and 50,000 daily hot meals to nursery and school students.
Amidst its trials, Gaza found an ally in EFB. The food aid, thoroughly curated with water, milk, dates, molasses, cheese, canned beef, and beans, was not just sustenance; it was a lifeline to provide them with instant nutritious food to give them the right energy. EFB's adaptability, driven by on-the-ground feedback, exemplifies their dedication to optimizing aid.

A convoy of 309 trucks was sent, 5,800 volunteers tirelessly packed, in addition to 700 on the ground in Rafah, and 4,635 tons of essential food aid reached the hands of those in need. EFB strategically relies on the invaluable contributions of volunteers from nearby the affected areas, a decision driven by the need for expediency.
The Egyptian Food Bank does not merely offer temporary relief; it functions as an architect of lasting change. Positioned for immediate deployment, donations and food aid are poised to shape narratives of hope.
Throughout the COVID-19 period, EFB went beyond mere food provision, prioritizing support and protection for workers and citizens facing economic challenges. This commitment materialized through the distribution of 1.5 million food parcels, dispatching 20,000 parcels daily across all Egyptian governorates.
This initiative aimed at delivering food assistance totaling EGP 150 million to the most deserving families. Additionally, the bank distributed 6 million hot meals to Egyptians in quarantine and provided 200,000 food parcels to support irregular laborers in a special campaign. The Egyptian Food Bank's extensive efforts successfully assisted approximately 16 million people during the COVID-19 crisis.
