Egypt raises fuel prices by up to EGP2 in 3rd increase of 2024

The price of diesel, essential for transporting goods and passengers nationwide, has increased by 17.3%, rising from EGP 11.5 to EGP 13.5 per litre.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources announced the third fuel price hike of 2024, effective immediately. 
 
The price of diesel, essential for transporting goods and passengers nationwide, has increased by 17.3%, rising from EGP 11.5 to EGP 13.5 per litre.
 
Other fuel prices have also seen significant increases:
 
- Octane 80 rose by 12.2%, now costing EGP 13.75 per litre, up from EGP 12.25.
- Octane 92 increased by 10.9%, from EGP 13.75 to EGP 15.25 per litre.
- Octane 95 saw a rise of 13.3%, settling at EGP 17 per litre, up from EGP 15.
- Kerosene prices increased by 17.3%, reaching EGP 13.5 per litre from EGP 11.5.
- Mazut for industrial use also rose by 11.7%, from EGP 8,500 to EGP 9,500 per ton.
