El-Sisi follows up on energy sector issues to ease electricity loads

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a meeting with Prime Minister, Moustafa Madbouly, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mahmoud Essmat, and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, to follow up on the government's efforts regarding several priority issues in the energy sector.

The focus was on implementing directives to ease electricity loads, particularly during summer, to lessen the burden on citizens.

The official spokesperson for the Presidency noted that El-Sisi was briefed on the government's actions to stabilize the electricity supply and reduce losses, especially amidst heightened summer consumption.

In this context, the Prime Minister and the Ministers of Electricity and Petroleum reviewed efforts to provide urgent needs for the electricity sector from petroleum products.

Discussions also included the government’s plans to boost investments in the energy sector, expedite oil and gas production, and enhance technological utilization to cut import costs and secure local petroleum and gas supplies.

President El-Sisi emphasized intensifying efforts to implement renewable energy projects, such as solar and wind energy, to expand power grid capacities.

Instructions were given by El-Sisi to foster collaboration among ministries and state entities to ensure seamless electricity service provision.
