Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala El-Said, met with 50 of the largest British companies to discuss ways of cooperation and joint investment opportunities, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Planning.

These companies specialize in various fields, including technology and environmental solutions, water, infrastructure, airports, technology, and finance.

El-Said explained that Egypt's non-oil exports have exceeded $35.3 billion, an increase of about 20% over the previous year.

She pointed out that investment procedures have undergone significant streamlining, which paved the way for foreign direct investments to reach $10 billion in 2024.

Egypt set a target to implement a comprehensive structural reform plan aimed at enhancing economic flexibility and competitiveness.

The objectives of this plan revolve around increasing the role and productivity of key sectors such as industry, agriculture, communications, and information technology, and increasing their contribution from 25% to 35% by 2027.

Minister El-Said pointed to the green hydrogen projects located in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

She stressed Egypt's commitment to localizing some industries related to green hydrogen, to ensure the sustainability of this type of investment.

At the meeting, the British delegation posed numerous inquiries regarding investment ventures in Egypt, which were addressed by the Minister of Planning in her responses.

Representatives from the delegation acknowledged the resilience of the Egyptian economy in effectively navigating the various shocks that have impacted nations worldwide.
