Volume of trade exchange bet. Egypt & G7 countries reaches $26B during 2023

The value of Egypt’s exports to the G7 countries reached $8.6 billion during 2023, compared to $11.4 billion during 2022.

The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and the G7 countries reached $26 billion in 2023, compared to $31.3 billion in 2022, revealed the latest data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

The value of Egypt’s exports to the G7 countries reached $8.6 billion during 2023, compared to $11.4 billion during 2022.

In 2023, Italy emerged as the leading G7 country in terms of importing goods from Egypt. Egypt’s exports to Italy reached a value of $3.2 billion.

 Followed by the United States of America ranked second with imports valued at $1.9 billion, while the United Kingdom trailed behind with imports worth $1.2 billion.

France secured the fourth position with imports totaling $855 million, and Germany stood close with imports valued at $829 million. Canada followed with imports amounting to $522 million, and Japan concluded the list with imports worth $55 million.

The most important commodity groups exported to the G7 countries during 2023

 Fuel and mineral oils worth $1.39 billion.

 Ready-made clothing worth $1.35 billion.

 Iron and steel worth $679 million.

Vegetables and fruits worth $674 million.

 Fertilizers worth $569 million.

The value of Egypt’s imports from the G7 countries reached $17.4 billion during 2023, compared to $19.9 billion during 2022.

The United States of America topped the list of the G7 countries that exported the most to Egypt during the year 2023, with the value of Egypt’s imports amounting to $5.4 billion.

 Followed by Germany $4.1 billion, then Italy $3.2 billion, then the United Kingdom $1.8 billion, then France $1.6 billion, then Japan $809 million, and Canada $434 million.

The most important groups of goods imported from the G7 countries during 2023

Machinery and electrical appliances worth $3.6 billion.

 Fuels and mineral oils worth $1.9 billion.

 Pharmaceutical products worth $1.7 billion.

Cars and tractors and bicycles worth $1.52 billion.

Iron and steel worth $1.51 billion.

The value of the investments of the G7 countries in Egypt recorded $8.1 billion during the fiscal year 2022/2023, compared to $7 billion during the fiscal year 2021/2022.

During the fiscal year 2022/2023, Italy secured the top position among G7 countries in terms of investments made in Egypt. Italy’s investments in Egypt amounted to $2.6 billion.

 Following closely behind, the United States of America with investments totaling $2.3 billion, while the United Kingdom held the third position with investments valued at $2 billion.

 France followed with investments amounting to $591.3 million, and Germany  with investments worth $355.7 million. Canada’s investments in Egypt reached $113.5 million, while Japan concluded the list with investments amounting to $68.4 million.

The value of Egyptian investments in the G7 countries recorded $7.32 billion during the fiscal year 2022/2023, compared to $7.34 billion during the fiscal year 2021/2022.
