In a vibrant display of civic engagement, Egyptian expatriates residing in New York have turned out in large numbers at the Egyptian Consulate to cast their votes in the presidential elections, marking the commencement of overseas voting. As polling stations opened in New York, residents synchronized with the local time zone seized the opportunity to actively participate in the electoral process.

The elections feature four candidates: Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, symbolized by the star; Farid Zahran, the head of the Egyptian Democratic Party, symbolized by the sun; Abdel-Sanad Yamama, the head of the Wafd Party, symbolized by the palm tree; and Hazem Omar, the head of the Republican People's Party, symbolized by the peace sign.

The electoral proceedings beyond Egypt unfold over the course of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, spanning 137 embassies and consulates across 121 countries globally. The locations and addresses were meticulously determined by the decision of the Board of Directors of the National Election Authority (27) for the year 2023.

Operating within the local time frames, polling stations outside Egypt welcome voters from 9 AM to 9 PM in each respective country. Notably, New Zealand took the lead as the first country where the Egyptian embassy facilitated voting. The time difference between Egypt and New Zealand stands at 11 hours. Situated in the southwest Pacific Ocean, New Zealand comprises two main islands with Wellington as its capital.

Under the leadership of Counselor Hazem Badawi, the National Election Authority has issued a directive to form the General Committee, entrusted with overseeing the election committees abroad. The committee's responsibilities include receiving results from subcommittees at diplomatic missions worldwide, compiling numerical breakdowns of participants, valid and invalid votes, and individual candidate tallies. The committee will then transmit the exclusive count to the National Election Authority, contributing to the overall results officially announced on December 18.
