A significant turnout was witnessed as members of the Egyptian community in the Kingdom of Bahrain exercised their voting rights in the 2024 presidential elections. Large numbers of Egyptian expatriates residing in Bahrain gathered at the Egyptian Embassy in Manama since the early hours of Friday to participate in the electoral process, turning the day into a democratic celebration.
The democratic fervor extended beyond Bahrain, with Egyptians living in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia also actively engaging in this electoral event. This noteworthy participation is attributed to the organizational efforts led by Ambassador Reham Khalil and the diplomatic and administrative staff at the Egyptian Embassy in Manama.
The voting for Egyptians abroad in the 2024 presidential elections began on Friday and will continue for three days until Sunday, involving 137 sub-committees located at the headquarters of diplomatic missions worldwide. Egyptian expatriates can cast their votes in person at the embassy or consulate where they are registered, choosing their preferred candidate and placing the ballot in the designated box.
The National Election Authority, under the leadership of Counselor Hazem Badawy, has issued guidelines for the voting process of Egyptians abroad to ensure the accuracy and integrity of their participation in the elections at the mission and consulate locations. Voters are required to present proof of identity, either through a valid national ID card or a passport containing the national ID number.
