Egypt's Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, expressed his appreciation for Russia's support of the Palestinian cause during a meeting in Moscow. Shoukry called for increased efforts within the United Nations Security Council to achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
Addressing the gathering of the ministerial committee formed by the Arab-Islamic summit with Russia's Foreign Minister, Shoukry highlighted Egypt's role in formulating a new resolution to be presented to the Security Council. The resolution, backed by both the Arab and Islamic groups, aims to address the existing flaws in the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
Shoukry clarified that the continuous shelling of displaced individuals in the south had a clear objective: to force the residents of the Gaza Strip to evacuate. Egypt, he emphasized, has unequivocally declared its rejection of any attempt to displace Palestinians, questioning the toll of civilian Palestinian casualties and Israel's goals in the ongoing conflict.
The ministerial committee, convened recently in Moscow, underscored the urgency of halting the war in Gaza and putting an end to Israeli violations of international law. The committee called on the UN Security Council to take responsibility for stopping the assaults on Palestinians.
