Gaza Crisis in Focus: Presidents Sisi, Iraq's Rashid discuss collaborative solutions

In a diplomatic rendezvous today in Riyadh, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt engaged in discussions with Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid. The meeting, marked by a focus on shared Arab and regional concerns, notably the ongoing developments in the Gaza Strip, saw both leaders exchanging viewpoints.

Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, noted that the presidents exchanged views on various Arab and regional issues of mutual interest. President Rashid expressed appreciation for Egypt's pivotal role in both political and humanitarian efforts to address the Gaza crisis.

The leaders reviewed Egypt's efforts to facilitate a ceasefire and allow for the delivery of humanitarian aid. Both sides agreed on the necessity for the international community to bear its responsibilities by intensively working to contain the situation and prevent the escalation of violence.

The importance of re-launching the peace process and applying the two-state solution principle, ensuring justice, security, and stability for the region's people, was underscored.

The discussions also encompassed ongoing efforts to maximize bilateral cooperation in various economic and political fields between the two brotherly nations. The leaders explored ways to enhance trilateral cooperation with Jordan and discussed participation in the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership.
