PM: ICT Sector is key driver of Egypt’s economic transformation

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly emphasized the strategic importance of Egypt’s Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector, describing it as a beacon of hope for the nation's youth and a vital engine for development across all sectors.  
 
Speaking at the opening of the 28th Cairo ICT Conference and Exhibition (Cairo ICT’24), held under the theme "The Next Wave," Madbouly lauded the sector's accelerated growth, which aligns with the government’s vision to enhance digital services, promote technological solutions, and support economic advancement.  
 
Representing President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the event, Madbouly commended the seamless organization of the region’s leading technology conference. "The ICT sector is a cornerstone of Egypt’s economic future, and the government is committed to supporting its continued growth and innovation," he stated during a tour of the exhibition halls.  
 
The Prime Minister highlighted ongoing efforts to advance digital transformation nationwide, focusing on infrastructure development and the expansion of digital government services. These initiatives aim to streamline processes for citizens while contributing to the success of the presidential "Decent Life” initiative, which seeks to enhance living conditions in rural areas.  
 
Madbouly also reiterated the government’s unwavering support for the ICT sector, citing its potential to attract investments, create jobs, and drive Egypt's economy forward. "This sector is not just a service industry; it is a catalyst for innovation and a foundation for the nation’s sustainable growth," he said.  
 
The Cairo ICT’24 event serves as a platform for showcasing cutting-edge advancements in technology and their applications across the Middle East and Africa. It reinforces Egypt’s position as a leader in digital transformation and innovation.
