The Egyptian-German Automotive Company (EGA) factory launched the locally manufactured Exceed car in Egypt today, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, Kamel Al-Wazir.

Al-Wazir stated that the launch of the locally manufactured Exeed car production line aligns with directives to position Egypt as a regional industrial hub, particularly in the automotive sector.

The minister highlighted the diversity of locally manufactured vehicles in the Egyptian market, mentioning products from Nissan, General Motors, and Nasr Automobile Company, with the latter achieving over 50% local content in its vehicles.

He emphasized fruitful collaboration with local manufacturers to produce vehicles. He noted that the persistent efforts of these factories have steadily increased the percentage of locally sourced components in Egypt’s automotive industry year after year.

Al-Wazir further explained that the EGA factory produces luxury vehicles under the Mercedes-Benz and Exeed brands, catering to the diverse demands of the Egyptian market.

He praised the skill and capability of Egyptian workers in producing high-quality vehicles across various industries.

The factory currently produces 1,200 Mercedes-Benz vehicles and 3,000 Exeed vehicles annually, creating numerous job opportunities for young people, Al-Wazir added.

These production figures are set to increase next year, leveraging the National Automotive Industry Development Strategy.

The focus will also include expanding local content, such as upholstery, glass, and seats, while maintaining high-quality standards. The company also aims to open new markets for its vehicles, particularly in the Arab region.
