Egypt explore ways of boosting Italian Eni’s activities in energy field

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Claudio Descalzi, CEO of Italy’s Eni, along with a delegation of senior company officials, to discuss ongoing cooperation. Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, also attended.

During the meeting, Eni provided an update on its projects in Egypt, particularly in research, exploration, and field development activities aimed at maintaining high production levels.

The company also highlighted advancements in energy efficiency and sustainability, supporting a fair energy transition.

Presidential spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy noted that Descalzi expressed pride in the strong partnership with Egypt and commended the government’s efforts to foster a supportive environment for investors, benefiting both sides.

Descalzi emphasized Eni’s commitment to expanding its role in Egypt’s energy sector, given the promising potential for both domestic production and exports.

President El-Sisi praised the robust cooperation between Egypt and Eni, describing it as a reflection of Egypt-Italy relations across multiple areas.

 He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to improving the investment climate and maximizing the country’s energy potential.

The President also acknowledged Eni’s contributions to community development through various support initiatives in Egypt.
