During the second expanded plenary session of the BRICS Summit, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi delivered a speech emphasizing Egypt's commitment to strengthening the multilateral international system.

El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s dedication to taking concrete steps toward development through innovative mechanisms, particularly in light of the escalating debt problem faced by developing countries and the lack of necessary financing to achieve sustainable development goals.

He emphasized the importance of the New Development Bank's role in providing concessional financing to support development projects in these nations.

The Egyptian president also highlighted the need to advance cooperation frameworks, particularly in financial settlements using local currencies, to promote more balanced and sustainable economic relationships.

He called for leveraging the comparative advantages of BRICS countries to launch joint investment and development projects, with a specific focus on agriculture, industry, digital transformation, and new and renewable energy.

He highlighted that recent global developments have exposed not only political shortcomings but also significant economic challenges. El-Sisi pointed out that successive crises have demonstrated the international system's inability to address global issues fairly and effectively, stressing the need for reforms.

Additionally, El-Sisi underscored the critical role of the BRICS Business Council and the BRICS Women's Business Alliance in fostering collaboration between the private sector and business leaders across member states. He views them as key partners in efforts to drive sustainable development and strengthen global economic growth.

Egypt’s involvement in the BRICS framework demonstrates a strong commitment to international cooperation, with a focus on addressing the global challenges that disproportionately affect developing nations, while also promoting mutual economic growth.
