The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and the BRICS countries increased to $30.2 billion during the first 8 months of 2024, compared to $26.2 billion during the same period in 2023, an increase of 15%, according to the latest data released by Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

The value of Egyptian exports to the BRICS bloc reached $5.7 billion during the first 8 months of 2024, compared to $5.3 billion during the same period in 2023, an increase of 7.3%.

Saudi Arabia came at the top of the list of the BRICS countries with the highest imports from Egypt during the first 8 months of 2024, as the value of Egypt’s exports to it amounted to $2.2 billion, followed by the UAE with $1.8 billion, then Brazil with $488 million, then Russia with $438 million, then India with $343 million, then China with $290 million.

In the first eight months of 2024, Egypt's key exports to BRICS countries included pearls, precious stones, and jewelry worth $979 million, followed by vegetables and fruits at $967 million. Machinery and electrical appliances reached $415 million, fuel and mineral oils $358 million, and iron and steel $254 million.

The value of Egyptian imports from the BRICS group reached $24.5 billion during the first 8 months of 2024, compared to $20.9 billion during the same period in 2023, an increase of 17%.

China topped the list of BRICS countries with the highest exports to Egypt during the first 8 months of 2024, as the value of Egypt’s imports from it amounted to $9.8 billion, followed by Saudi Arabia with $4.3 billion, then Russia with $4.1 billion, then Brazil with $2.5 billion, then India with $2 billion, then the UAE with $1.8 billion.

In the first eight months of 2024, Egypt's main imports from BRICS countries included machinery, electrical, and mechanical devices worth $4.2 billion, fuel and mineral oils at $3.4 billion, grains at $2.6 billion, iron, steel, and their products at $2.2 billion, and plastics and their products at $1.8 billion.

The value of the BRICS investments in Egypt recorded $4.4 billion during FY 2022/2023, compared to $19.5 billion during FY 2021/2022.

Saudi Arabia ranked first among BRICS countries in terms of investments in Egypt during FY 2022/2023, with investments totaling $1.8 billion. The UAE followed with $1.5 billion, China with $750 million, India with $154.4 million, and Russia with $125.9 million.

Meanwhile, Egypt's investments in BRICS countries amounted to $17.3 billion during FY 2022/2023, down from $22 billion in FY2021/2022.

Saudi Arabia also topped the list of BRICS countries receiving the highest Egyptian investments in 2022/2023, with $7.8 billion. The UAE followed with $5.2 billion, China with $2.5 billion, Russia with $789.5 million, and India with $488.4 million.
