Dieter Franke, Regional General Manager of IHG Egypt & North Africa, announced the appointment of Ahmed Kamel as the new Hotel Manager of InterContinental Cairo Citystars, effective October 1, 2024. Kamel's extensive experience and strategic approach are anticipated to significantly enhance the hotel's operations and guest experiences.

“Ahmed’s commitment to operational excellence and his strategic approach to hotel management make him an invaluable addition to our team,” Franke stated. He expressed confidence that Kamel’s leadership would drive revenue growth and strengthen the hotel's overall performance.

In his new role, Kamel will oversee all hotel operations, focusing on upholding the high standards associated with the InterContinental brand. His vision includes fostering a culture of innovation and hospitality, ensuring that every guest enjoys a memorable experience.

Kamel brings over 24 years of hospitality experience, having held leadership positions in esteemed international brands across cities such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Beijing, Hong Kong, Alexandria, and Makkah. His extensive background includes roles at InterContinental Doha The City and Crowne Plaza Dubai SZR, as well as overseeing operations for a prestigious hotel group in Makkah.

Kamel is the founding president of the national chapter of the AICR Organization in the GCC and has received a global leadership award. His participation in international congresses has further enriched his leadership profile.
