Egypt’s manufacturing & extractive industries index surge by 0.07% during June 2024

The beverage industry index reached 654.08 in June 2024 compared to 583.43 in May 2024, an increase of 12.11%.

The index for manufacturing and extractive industries (excluding crude oil and petroleum products) reached 108.35 during June 2024 (preliminary) compared to 108.27 during May 2024 (final), an increase of 0.07%,  according to latest data released by  the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS)

The index for the ready-made clothing industry reached 205.26 in June 2024 compared to 178.30 in May 2024, an increase of 15.12%, according to the market's needs.

The beverage industry index reached 654.08 in June 2024 compared to 583.43 in May 2024, an increase of 12.11%.

The furniture industry index reached 135.37 during June 2024 compared to 163.14 in May 2024, a decrease of 17.02% due to the lack of availability of the raw materials necessary for the product.

The index for the manufacture of paper and its products reached 58.42 in June 2024 compared to 68.18 in May 2024, a decrease of 14.32%.

It is worth mentioning that the agency updated the methodology of the index using the base year 2012/2013 and at the level of industrial activity indices according to the International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC Rev.4) and using the monthly index (for producer prices based on 2012/2013) since January 2020.
