CEO of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA), Basil Rahmy, received a high-level delegation from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to discuss enhancing the capabilities of industrial projects in Egypt.
The purpose of this collaboration is to increase Egypt’s productivity and provide them with the opportunity to compete in foreign markets and cover local needs. Rahmy pointed out the agency’s collaborative initiative with JICA, stating that the project will span two years.
Its primary objective is to enhance the competitiveness of several medium and small enterprises in the plastics industry within the industrial complex located in Alexandria. Additionally, the project aims to support the food manufacturing sector in Minya.
The CEO of the Enterprise Development Agency announced the completion of the first phase, which involved assessing the needs of 20 projects.
This process took 45 days and included visits organized by the agency’s project team and Japanese experts.
MSMEDA seeks to activate various means of cooperation with development partners from major international bodies, to exchange experiences in the fields of supporting medium and small enterprises, CEO of the Agency.
This cooperation will help to reduce import and dollar spending and to enhance exports.
