Sharm El Sheikh Wins Global Accolade for Safest Tourist Destination, Prime Minister Lauds Achievement

Sharm El Sheikh named best safe tourist destination globally, receiving accolades for sustainable development efforts.

Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister of Egypt, has praised Sharm El Sheikh's recognition as the best safe tourist destination globally. Additionally, Major General Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai, received the "AFASU" Gold Award for Best Governor Leader for the Development of a Tourist City in the World, within the framework of the "AFASU" Gold Awards.

The Prime Minister emphasized that this win is a culmination of the efforts of various state bodies in collaboration with South Sinai Governorate to develop and enhance Sharm El Sheikh.

He described it as an icon of Egyptian tourism and a hub for international conferences. Sharm El Sheikh is transforming into a smart green city through concerted efforts of all state entities, implementing numerous sustainable infrastructure and service projects alongside biodiversity conservation measures.

This accolade also honors Major General Khaled Fouda for his dedicated service to sustainable development and tourism in the governorate.

Dr. Moustafa Madbouly further stated that this global award also recognizes the diligent efforts of all those who contributed silently to the development of this tourist city across all state sectors.

He highlighted that the achievements in Sharm El Sheikh serve as a living model that the state seeks to replicate in various Egyptian cities.

Mohamed El-Homosany, the official spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, affirmed that Sharm El Sheikh adopts several fundamental criteria, including enhancing sustainability, transportation networks, social impact, and solidifying the foundations of sustainable development in governmental administration, managerial development, and tourist security.
