Egypt to offer contracts to private sector to manage airports | PM

The government is also looking to launch tenders for the operation and management of seaports, dry ports, and public transport lines, the prime minister said.

Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly announced Egypt’s interest in partnering with the private sector in the transportation sector, stressing that the government is keen for the private sector to manage and operate projects after they are completed. Madbouly said that Egypt plans to offer private companies contracts to manage and run airports.

The government is also looking to launch tenders for the operation and management of seaports, dry ports, and public transport lines, the prime minister said.

This came in the PM’s roundtable meeting with Minister of Transport, Kamel Al Wazir and representatives of more than 20 leading global companies specializing in the fields of transport, logistics, and maritime navigation.

These companies include Siemens, Alstom, DP World, Abu Dhabi Ports, Transmas among other players in the transport and logistics industry.

This meeting took place as part of the ongoing TransMEA2023 conference focusing on smart transportation, infrastructure, and logistics for the Middle East and Africa, held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
