President Sisi meets WFP executive director to discuss Gaza humanitarian support

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi welcomed Ms. Cindy McCain, the Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), in the presence of Al-Sayed el-Quseir, Egypt's Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, on Saturday.

The meeting centered around regional issues, with a primary focus on the developments in the Gaza Strip. Ms. McCain expressed her gratitude to Egypt for its pivotal and leadership role in providing support to the people of Gaza.

This support has been extended through direct Egyptian aid and coordination of assistance from international entities, including the WFP and other relevant UN organizations.

In this context, President Sisi emphasized Egypt's deep concern about the ongoing deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. He highlighted Egypt's relentless efforts around the clock to ensure the delivery of the maximum possible aid that meets the real needs of the Gaza population.

These Egyptian endeavors include continued diplomatic initiatives with various regional and international stakeholders to push for an immediate ceasefire.

Moreover, the President emphasized the importance of revitalizing the political process based on the two-state solution, paving the way for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in accordance with internationally recognized references.

Egypt's commitment to humanitarian support for Gaza remains unwavering as it collaborates with international organizations to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
