Speaking at the 'Hikayat Watan' (Homeland's Story) conference, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly emphasized the crucial role of food security in a nation's self-reliance.

The conference, attended by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, ministers, politicians, youth representatives, media professionals, and community leaders, commenced its proceedings today at the prestigious Masa Hall in the New Administrative Capital.

The event aims to showcase Egypt's achievements across various sectors.

Prime Minister Madbouly underscored the importance of food security, stating that no nation can truly govern its destiny without control over its food supply.

Consequently, Egypt has made it a top priority to achieve food security in recent years.

Madbouly pointed out that as the cost of goods increased, so did expenditures on food.

Beginning in 2015, Egypt initiated agricultural reform projects, initially focusing on projects reliant on the waters of the Nile or groundwater.

The nation's efforts began with projects like Toshka and the Egyptian countryside, eventually progressing to more challenging endeavors aimed at treating drainage water and countering natural slopes in target agricultural areas through innovative techniques.

These efforts extend to the reclamation of the New Delta and lands in Sinai, with plans to add 4 million acres to the agricultural sector to support food security for a growing population, increasing by 2 million annually.

The Prime Minister emphasized that these projects, funded by the state, are essential for achieving self-sufficiency.

The government is actively involved in building agricultural silos and has tripled storage capacities through projects like silos. These initiatives are part of Egypt's multifaceted approach to enhancing food security.

Egypt, under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, has embarked on ambitious projects to bolster its economy, infrastructure, and food security.

The nation's dedication to self-sufficiency and innovative agricultural practices demonstrates its commitment to the well-being of its citizens and its aspiration to play a pivotal role on the global stage.
