Minister of Industry and Trade, Ahmed Samir, held a productive meeting with a delegation from the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) led by Kanayo Awani, the Bank's Vice President. The purpose of the meeting was to finalize preparations for the highly anticipated third edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair.
Egypt has been chosen as the host country for the third edition of the fair, which is organized by Afreximbank in collaboration with the African Union and the secretariat of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement. The event is scheduled to take place from November 9 to 15 2023, and is expected to attract the participation of 75 countries and 1,600 exhibitors. It is anticipated that the fair will facilitate trade and investment agreements worth $43 billion.
During the meeting, Minister Samir and the delegation discussed various important aspects of the exhibition. This included finalizing arrangements for the grand opening and signing of the hosting agreements. Minister Samir emphasized that the exhibition's main objective is to boost intra-African trade and showcase the vast investment opportunities available across the African continent.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade expressed its commitment to providing full support to the organizing bodies, participating countries, and companies involved in ensuring the successful execution of the exhibition. Minister Samir emphasized the importance of conducting the event in a manner that appropriately reflects Egypt's regional and global standing.
