Governor of CBE bank participates in Algeria’s Bank Governors meeting

During the meetings, they coordinated and agreed to hold specialized banking forums in Egypt, Tunisia, and Qatar.

Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Hassan Abdullah, participated with the President of the Union of Arab Banks, Mohamed Al-Etreby, and Secretary-General, Wissam Fattouh, in the meetings of the forty-seventh session of the Council of Governors of Arab Central Banks and Arab Monetary Institutions, organized by the Arab Monetary Fund.

During the meetings, they coordinated and agreed to hold specialized banking forums in Egypt, Tunisia, and Qatar. The President of the Union and the Secretary-General also met with governors of Arab central banks, heads of international regulatory bodies, and Arab banking leaders.

The Union’s delegation discussed areas of cooperation between the Union of Arab Banks on the one hand, and the banking supervisory and regulatory authorities on the other hand.

In addition to that, they discussed issues with regard to new international banking legislation and rules, most notably compliance issues, and how to implement them from a standpoint, according to a statement by the Union of Arab Banks.

This session discusses the effectiveness of monetary policy in confronting inflation resulting from supply imbalances, the balance between enhancing the digitization of financial services and maintaining financial stability, and enhancing transparency, accountability, and governance in the work of central banks.
