National Initiative for Smart Green Projects reflects Egypt's commitment to sustainable development and environmental preservation.

Egypt's National Initiative for Smart Green Projects participated in the fifth annual forum on strategies for transitioning to a green economy organized by CSR Egypt under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Solidarity.
Launched under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and with the decision of the Prime Minister, the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects is implemented under the supervision of the Minister of Planning and Economic Development in collaboration with relevant ministries. The initiative is led by Dr. Mahmoud Mohie El-Din, Climate Pioneer and Head of the National Arbitration Committee, and Ambassador Hisham Badr, the National Coordinator of the initiative.
During the forum, Nermine Sadik, the Executive Director of the initiative, highlighted the goals and importance of the initiative as a global unprecedented effort. It is implemented across all governorates of the republic with the participation of all sectors to find Egyptian solutions to climate change problems.
She emphasized the opportunities provided by the initiative for winning projects, including financial prizes offered by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, as well as technical and logistical support. Moreover, the initiative aims to provide financial and investment institutions to support these projects.
The Executive Director of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects also announced an extension of the project submission period for the second round until September 1st. This decision aims to give applicants more time to enhance their project models and achieve maximum benefit.
The forum showcased several winning projects from the first round of the initiative, highlighting their progress, achievements, and participation in the CoP27 Climate Conference.
Among these projects was the Green Roads and Ecotourism project in the Qarun Nature Reserve in Fayoum, presented by Ehab Mahmoud Ibrahim. Additionally, Mohammed Abdel Aziz Mohamed Eldemardash presented the Sustainable Agricultural Village project in New Valley Governorate, and Dr. Wahad Samir Ahmed shared the Scrap for Bread project in Cairo.
Ataa Gad El Kareem presented the Egyptian Waste Bank project in Luxor, while Mona Rafat Taman showcased the 3D Printing from Electronic Waste Recycling project in Alexandria. Finally, Samar Said Moawad presented the Golden Hands Women's Initiative in Fayoum Governorate.

Under the guidance of President Sisi, the initiative aims to address climate change challenges and create innovative, Egyptian-led solutions. By encouraging the participation of all sectors and promoting green entrepreneurship, the initiative contributes to job creation, economic growth, and a greener future.
The extension of the project submission period allows for further refinement and optimization of proposals, ensuring the maximum impact of these groundbreaking initiatives.
