Egypt and Iraq signed 11 MoUs across different fields

The MoUs are across different fields, including one signed by MSMEDA and Iraq’s Central Bank to support small and medium enterprises and one in the fields of diplomatic training and knowledge sharing.

Mostafa Madbouly, Egypt’s Prime Minister, and Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, Iraq’s Prime Minister, witnessed the signing of 11 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) between Egypt and Iraq during the Iraqi-Egyptian joint higher committee meeting.

The MoUs are across different fields, including one signed by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA) and Iraq’s Central Bank to support small and medium enterprises and one in the fields of diplomatic training and knowledge sharing.

Other MoUs include technical cooperation to help Iraq join the World Trade Organization, promoting tourism between Iraq and Egypt. The remaining agreements are across the fields of sports, public administration, civil services, social solidarity, and economic planning.

According to latest data by the OEC, Egypt exported $459 million to Iraq in 2021. The main products that Egypt exported to Iraq were plastic pipes $73.1 million, video displays amounting to $60.8 million, and iron stovetops accounting to $39.7 million.
