Egypt's digital economy expands as gov't works to accelerate digital transformation efforts

These initiatives include the General Administration's mission to foster innovation.

In order to improve cooperation between Egypt and Germany in the area of digital transformation, Dr. Amr Talaat, the Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, met with Niels Annen, the German Minister of State for Economic Cooperation and Development, in Berlin.

In the meeting, the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology discussed the ongoing cooperation projects between Egypt and Germany in the area of digital transformation.

These initiatives include the General Administration's mission to foster innovation and the partnership to set up a lab for creating government applications.

They also discussed the executive plans carried out by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to develop the information technology industry and create an enabling environment for investment in outsourcing.

Yemeni Osman, the Deputy Head of the Egyptian mission to the Embassy of Egypt in Berlin, and Khaled El-Attar, the Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology for Administrative Development, Digital Transformation, and Automation, were also in attendance.

Dr. Amr Talaat also held a meeting with Udo Philipp, the German Minister of State for the Economy, during which they discussed the mechanisms for promoting cooperation between the two countries in the field of communications and information technology.

They also reviewed the potentials of the communications and information technology sector and its latest developments, shedding light on the sector's young, qualified, and specialized cadres, who are able to work in the communications and information technology industry in both local and global markets.

Egypt has been making significant strides in the field of digital transformation and information technology.

The country's digital economy has been expanding rapidly, and the government has been working to create an enabling environment for investment and innovation in this sector. Egypt has also been actively seeking international partnerships and collaborations to enhance its capabilities and accelerate its digital transformation efforts.
