The Egyptian stock exchange resumed trading on Wednesday after a holiday from April 20 to April 25 to mark Eid al-Fitr and Sinai Liberation Day.

Trading sessions will now return to their regular schedule, starting at 10 am and ending at 2:30 pm.

Since the beginning of the year, the Egyptian stock exchange has posted a positive performance, with the market capitalization reaching EGP 1.122 trillion, a gain of EGP 161.5 billion.

The main index rose by 19.98% to reach 17,516 points, while the EGX 70 (equal-weighted) index jumped by 6.78% to reach 2,991 points, and the EGX 100 (equal-weighted) index increased by 9.75% to reach 4,549 points.

Egypt's stock market has been on an upward trend for the past few years, with more investors showing confidence in the country's economy.

In 2022, the government implemented a series of economic reforms to reduce the budget deficit and control inflation.

This, coupled with a stable political situation and a promising investment climate, has led to an increase in foreign investment and boosted the local stock market.
