Egypt has launched the second version of its National Initiative for Smart Green Projects, a pioneering initiative in sustainable and smart development that aims to preserve the environment, improve the quality of life, and ensure the rights of future generations, in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the implementation of the National Climate Change Strategy 2050.
The initiative focuses on creating a map of smart green projects in the country's governorates and attracting the necessary investments for them.
The successful collaboration of all concerned ministries and institutions led to the achievement of the first version of the initiative.
The new version reflects Egypt's vision to consolidate the new reality in which development is linked to digital transformation and optimal use of information technology and the Fourth Industrial Revolution, while taking into consideration environmental considerations and the transition to a green economy.
The initiative is a model for initiatives aimed at localizing climate and developmental work. It is expected that the contributions of the initiative will be shared at the 28th Conference of the Parties in Dubai at the end of this year.
The national initiative for smart green projects has attracted the attention of national banks and international development finance institutions to participate in financing and implementing its projects.
The initiative's continuity is the practical implementation of the five main goals of the Sharm El-Sheikh Conference, and it supports its outcomes.
The initiative is distinguished by the diversity of its classifications and its multiple axes, which focus on climate work and the transition to a green economy.
It also emphasizes digital transformation and enhancing community participation from various categories and stakeholders, according to Dr. Mahmoud Mohy Eldin, a climate pioneer.
The initiative aims to achieve decentralized development by spreading not only through governorates but also through neighborhoods, villages, and industrial zones.
Egypt is taking steps towards a more sustainable future by implementing initiatives that aim to preserve the environment, improve the quality of life, and ensure the rights of future generations. The country has been working towards achieving its Vision 2030 goals and implementing its National Climate Change Strategy 2050.
The success of the first version of the National Initiative for Smart Green Projects reflects the effective collaboration of all concerned ministries and institutions. The initiative's continuation highlights Egypt's commitment to achieving the five main goals of the Sharm El-Sheikh Conference and supporting its outcomes.
