France had previously received and treated two Palestinian children on December 28, 2023, in line with the commitments of French President Emmanuel Macron.
In a commendation to Egyptian authorities, France has expressed gratitude for their assistance in facilitating the evacuation and transfer of seven Palestinian children to French hospitals. A joint statement from the French Ministries of Health and Foreign Affairs acknowledged Egypt's crucial role in this humanitarian operation.
The statement reiterated France's commitment to providing ongoing medical and humanitarian support to Gaza's civilian population. This support extends to the treatment of the wounded aboard the French ship "Dixmude," currently docked at the port of Al-Arish. Approximately a thousand medical examinations have been conducted on board. Furthermore, France supports medical structures managed by non-governmental organizations and partner countries, including Jordan. This assistance includes sending medical supplies and evacuating critically injured children.
Today's operation marked the second of its kind. France had previously received and treated two Palestinian children on December 28, 2023, in line with the commitments of French President Emmanuel Macron.
France continues to express deep concern about the humanitarian situation in Gaza, where shortages of food, water, and medicine have led to a severe health and nutrition crisis for several weeks.
The joint statement referenced French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné's address to the United Nations Security Council, emphasizing the urgent need for immediate action to achieve a permanent ceasefire. This, according to Séjourné, is the only way to end the suffering of civilians in Gaza.
