Cairo's streets witnessed an outpouring of citizens lining up to catch a glimpse of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's motorcade as it passed through the city.

This enthusiastic show of support followed the official announcement by the National Electoral Authority of President El-Sisi's triumph in securing a new term, prompting citizens to wave Egyptian flags in celebration.

The National Electoral Authority, headed by Chancellor Hazem Badawi, formally declared President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi as the President of the Republic for a new term. This announcement came after the official results of the presidential elections were disclosed on Monday.

The electoral authority received results from all governorates after the conclusion of the counting process. The opportunity to file objections to decisions made by the general committees was available until last Thursday, with the authority confirming no appeals were lodged by candidates regarding the results of the general committees.

The executive body of the National Electoral Authority conducted a comprehensive review of the vote counting process, incorporating both domestic and overseas results. The consolidated results were presented to the board of the National Authority, which subsequently approved the final outcome of the presidential elections.

According to Article 140 of the constitution, the president is elected for a term of six Gregorian years, commencing from the day following the end of his predecessor's term. Furthermore, the constitution prohibits a president from holding office for more than two consecutive terms.

Article 241 of the constitution reiterates that the current president's term concludes after six years from the date of his election as president in 2018, with the possibility of reelection for one subsequent term.
