In a press conference today, the International Monitoring Team of the Arab Organization for Human Rights gathered, alongside local and international news agencies and broadcasters, to unveil their findings regarding the 2024 presidential elections.

The organization's report, presented during the conference, affirmed the transparency and efficiency of the elections in the first round. It stated that, in general, the elections were conducted fairly, with observations from the monitoring team and documented by the Central Operations Room having no significant impact on the voting process in the first round.

The Arab Organization for Human Rights expressed gratitude to the National Electoral Authority of the Arab Republic of Egypt for the facilities provided to both local and international observers. The organization commended the positive response to the observations raised, which were documented and submitted to the electoral authority.

The organization monitored the electoral process through a random sample covering five regions nationwide, comprising 15 governorates through five teams. The international monitoring team consisted of 38 observers representing 18 Arab and European countries, including members of the organization's board of trustees, leaders of member organizations, and consulting experts. The Arab Organization for Human Rights will continue to monitor the 2024 elections in Egypt in accordance with the statement of the National Electoral Authority, issued as No. 1 for the year 2023, designating recognized international organizations to monitor the 2024 elections in Egypt.

The 2024 presidential elections mark the fifth multiparty presidential elections in the country's recent history. These elections gain additional significance as a crucial step in the nation's path towards democratic transition, party pluralism, and political competitiveness. This comes after a year and a half of earnest and unprecedented national dialogue involving all components of Egyptian society, including political, union, and civil society entities.
