Egypt, Turkey coordinate efforts to alleviate humanitarian crisis in Gaza

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met today with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Riyadh, discussing ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two nations across various domains. The meeting, characterized by its focus on mutual steps and building on tangible progress, aimed at activating diverse mechanisms of bilateral cooperation.

According to the spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency, Counselor Ahmed Fahmy, the leaders delved into coordinating and consulting on the evolving situation in the Gaza Strip.

The discussions involved a comprehensive review of concerted efforts at all levels to contain the crisis and its humanitarian consequences.

The two presidents concurred on the urgent need to halt continuous bombardments and military operations in the Gaza Strip. This consensus was driven by the shared goal of preventing further risks to civilians and loss of life.

It aims to avert further deterioration of the humanitarian conditions for Gaza residents. Egypt's essential role in delivering relief aid to the people of Gaza, coupled with international efforts, was emphasized, working towards the implementation of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
