EGX kicks week off in the green with market cap. of EGP 1.923trn

Sunday trading saw 1 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of EGP 3.79 billion. Market capitalization was recorded at EGP 1.9232 trillion.

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) kicked the week off in the green zone.

Benchmark index EGX 30 was up by 0.84% to end the session at 28,602.14 points.

The Sharia index inched upwards by 0.23% to 2,775.25 points.

EGX 70 jumped by 1.13% to 6,293.21 points, followed by EGX 100 with a climb of 0.91% to settle at 9,140.49 points.

Sunday trading saw 1 billion shares exchanged with a turnover of EGP 3.79 billion.

Market capitalization was recorded at EGP 1.9232 trillion.

Trading on securities saw Egyptian investors as net buyers with a net value of EGP 117.64 million. Arab and foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 6.32 million and EGP 111.32 million, respectively.

The top gains of the session were by El Ahli Investment and Development which was up by 19.98%, Taqa Arabia by 14.88%, and Egypt Aluminum by 9.33%.

The largest losses of Sunday’s session were by Raya Contact Center which dropped by 5.41%, Misr Hotels by 4.62%, and Electro Cable Egypt by 3.16%.

The EGX will be off on Thursday, July 11 in celebration of the Islamic New Year.
