The group is finalizing agreements that could lead to a EGP 5 billion investment that will see Alameda launch new facilities in the New Administrative Capital, and other locations
One of Egypt’s leading healthcare groups, Alameda Healthcare, announced their expansion plans for 2021 in a press conference on Sunday, with the group aiming to expand its geographical presence and capacity as part of its ongoing strategy to enhance the local healthcare market and offer best-in-class services to Egyptians.
“At Alameda, we strive to offer innovative, state-of-the-art healthcare services, in line with global standards,” said Fahad Khater, Chairman and owner of Alameda Healthcare. “Our expansion strategy is central to our growth and will see us build on our existing capabilities and deliver on our founder’s vision to offer Egyptians premium healthcare services right here at home.”
The group announced that it will be pursuing new expansion opportunities in both Cairo and the nation at large, and are finalizing agreements that could lead to a EGP 5 billion investment that will see Alameda launch new facilities in the New Administrative Capital, Al Alamein, Alexandria, Assiut, and Mansoura.
Khater explained the group’s current expansion strategy, which includes increasing their Maaid-based As-Salam International Hospital’s (ASSIH ) capacity by 100 beds, and the opening of the group’s fourth facility, AASSIH New Cairo, with a total capacity of 150 beds in the coming few weeks.
With the inauguration the new hospital, Alameda will have a combined capacity of more than 1,000 beds, alongside more than 128 outpatient clinics, as well as diagnostic and specialist centers, pharmacies, and a rehabilitation center.
According to a statement, the group’s investments will have multiplier effects that enhances inclusive economic growth via the creation of decent jobs that will exceed 5,000 job opportunities.
Alameda will also be launching a nursing academy to further enhance its capacities and ensure that it is able to provide leading care to its patients.
The group further iterated its commitment towards establishing world-class centers of excellence (COEs) across its facilities, the company stated. The COEs will be created in seven key specialties including cardiac sciences; neurosciences; oncology; orthopedics and spine; renal sciences and kidney transplants; GIT, liver disease and liver transplants; and respiratory diseases.
“We seek to offer our patients leading care at all of our facilities and ensure that it is accessible to all,” said Alameda Healthcare CEO, Neeraj Mishra. “Digitalization and technology are therefore prioritized with our facilities constantly being upgraded with high-tech equipment u in order to offer our patients the very best level of care.”
Alameda recently installed Siemens’ latest generation PET-CT and established an entirely new state-of-the-art chemotherapy unit at Dar Al Fouad, Nasr City, wrote its statement.
By the end of the year, the group expects to have installed the most advanced True Beam LINAC from Varian at As Salam Maadi with total investment of EGP 60 million. The new accelerator will deliver radiotherapy - to tumors across various parts of the body, along with its bi-plane cardiology catheterization labs and neurosurgery’s most advanced microscope and navigation system, it added.
The group also announced the establishment of the Khater Foundation for Community Development, which has distributed approximately EGP 200 million into various initiatives with the aim of building and improving the country’s underserved communities.
Through the foundation, the group has provided several supplies and modern machines, including CT and Lithotripsy machines, to Al Kasr Alainy hospital’s Urology Unit and Internal Medicine Unit. Its support also extended to Abu Reesh Children Hospital, where Alameda commissioned a Kidney Transplant Unit and Dialysis Unit and offered nursing manpower, as well as the installation of the Varian LINAC at the National Cancer Institute and Elekta LINAC at Cairo University.
The foundation has provided aid to several non-profits as well, including NGOs and foundations to build effective and long-term partnerships and strengthen their capacity.
