International alliance to establish green data center in Egypt

Prime Minister, Mostafa Madbouly, held a meeting to review a proposed project to establish a green data center submitted by an alliance.

The project aims to export services abroad in the field of data storage and processing, the representatives of alliance added.

During the meeting, they reviewed the components of the green data center project and the project objectives.

The alliances officials explained proposed areas for establishing the project, as well as its initial design. They stressed that the project will depend on global developments, including the increasing reliance on artificial intelligence services.

Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Sherif El-Sherbiny, confirmed that the Ministry intends to cooperate with the alliance to implement the project to provide various necessary requirements. In order to quickly complete its implementation, including providing the necessary land for the project.

Egypt is considered one of the most important countries attracting this type of investment in light of the Egyptian government’s great interest in the outsourcing exports file, which is expected to reach $9 billion by 2026.

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Amr Talaat, confirmed his intention to study the project with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, to reach the best solutions for implementing the project, and the technical requirements it includes.
