The total incoming tourist flows to Egypt during the first 7 months of 2024 exceeded 8 million tourists, according to a statement by CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Authority (ETA), Amr El-Kady.
El-Kady expected the sector’s revenues to exceed $14 billion by the end of this year.

The period from January until mid-August witnessed a growth in spending levels at rates ranging between 12 and 14%, according to Al Arabiya Business.
The German market continues to lead inflows to Egypt until mid-August, followed by the Russian market by a slight margin, with a growth rate of 10%, El-Kady added.
The German market’s share recorded about 1.6 million tourists in 2023, and it is expected to exceed this number by the end of this year, the CEO of ETA confirmed.
Regarding the East Asian markets, he stated that the Chinese market achieved a growth of 60% due to the tripling of Chinese airline traffic to Egypt, reaching 28 flights per week. The Japanese market also achieved 70% growth compared to the same period in 2023.
